Gare du Midi, on the other hand, is an elegant 19th-century building located in the heart of Biarritz near the Jardin Public. It was the city’s original train station but ceased operating as a railway terminal in 1980. Today it serves as a cultural venue and events hall. No trains pass through it. If your GPS or a local recommendation sends you to the Gare du Midi, do not follow it — head instead to Allée du Moura for your train.
